Convenor

Michael Dawson

Michael "Froggy" Dawson has Computer and Mathematical Sciences degree from UWA with a major in Geographic Information Systems and is currently working for a large consultancy in Perth. He is a former President, Vice President, Librarian and Ordinary Committee Member of UniSFA and has been actively involved in fandom for 10 years. Michael was the instigator of the current concom, coming up with the mad plan to run a SwanCon whilst listening to Anna Hepworth relate her horror stories of running conventions. He is a glutton for punishment.

Secretary

Paul McLaughlan

Treasurer

Stephanie Cooke

Stephanie Cooke is a UWA graduate with honours in Asian Studies. Like Michael, she is a former President, Vice President and Librarian of UniSFA, and a dirty great fangirl (not so much like Michael). Her favourite authors include Neil Gaiman, Sara Douglass, and Frank Herbert, even though Herbert was a crazy pants. Her favourite artist is Shaun Tan, and her favourite comic is about philosophic dinosaurs. If you want her to do something, bribe her with Muppets or penguins. You can identify Stephanie by her long dark hair and her tendency to boss people around

Guest Liaison

Dave Thatcher

Thatcher read barely any SF before getting to university, instead being a fan of crime and spy novels. However, after discovering the joy of the one true fiction, he threw himself into it. A dubious career of involvement with all the university SF clubs in the state ensued thereafter. Secretary and twice President of the Curtin Imagination Association, twice OCM for University Science Fiction Association, and one year as a FAL signatory for the Murdoch Alternate Realities Society when they couldn't find anyone else. He has studiously avoided receiving any degree despite being enrolled at university for a decade through changing course 6 times and not showing up to class. Self proclaimed field of expertise is movies, has watched all but 4 of the IMDB top 250 and is happily over-opinionated on every single one of them. He insists that "True Lies" is one of the top ten films of all time. Physically he is completely non-descript and denies any resemblance to photos bearing his name found on the internet.

Chief Programmer

Tom Eitelhuber

Tom Eitelhuber is a UWA Graduate Mathematician and a former President of UniSFA. His favourite authors include Tim Powers, Kurt Vonnegut, Robin Hobb and Neal Stephenson. He is also a comics afficianado, and counts Transmetropolitan, The Maxx, Powers, Y - The Last Man, and Bob the Angry Flower amongst his personal faves. His favourite SF&F TV shows are Aeon Flux, The Maxx, Buffy & Angel, Smallville and Ultraviolet, while his favourite SF&F movies include Dark City, Donnie Darko, Alice in Wonderland, Night/Day Watch, Evil Dead I-III and Castle of Cagliostro. Tom's biggest passion (just marginally ahead of SF&F) is music - he collects albums, writes reviews for his website and is currently learning how to play the guitar. He wrote and directed the SwanCon 32: Inconceivable! Launch Video, but was in no way responsible for the botched sound when they tried to play it at the closing ceremony. Tom is easily identifiable thanks to his great height and massive red hair.

Academic Programmer

Erika Pearson

Erika Pearson is almost a Doctor of Internet Studies, with an academic career spanning back into last century. Her research interests span the breadths and murky depths of cyber culture, and she is still relentlessly pursuing a nirvana where she can get paid for being a geek. With widely eclectic tastes in scifi books and media, she has a particularly fascination with giant killer robots (extra points if they get to flatten a major city), intelligent machines, all forms of cyberpunk and a certain world flown on the back of a turtle. You'll be able to find her at most geeky events. She'll be the one in a t-shirt with a weird slogan, trying to boss everyone around.
